Welcome to Brintala German Pinschers.

I am Karen Wakefield and I live with my husband in Cornwall with our Dobermans and German Pinschers. We have had dogs all our lives starting with Labradors and poodles and then Dobermans and Rough Collies. Our dogs live in our home and are very much part of the family. They travel with us on holiday, sail with us and come to the local pub with us, basically where we go they go. They are very loved and cherished. Our puppies are raised in the same home environment; they have the best possible start in life.

Showing my dogs is a hobby for me which I thoroughly enjoy, and in which I have enjoyed moderate success. I have no ambition to be a large breeder and exhibitor rather a small producer of healthy dogs, fit for purpose who are placed in loving and appropriate homes (show or pet homes).

German Pinschers became part of our family five years ago. I purchased a red bitch from the Legacy Kennel in Pittsburgh, USA. Sassy (Legacy’s Wish-ful Thinking) arrived in April 2010. Over the last few years Sassy has been introduced to the show scene in both the UK and Europe. She has been very successful and become the first UK owned German Pinscher to gain a Champion Title in Europe and is now a Netherlands Champion and LuxembourgChampion. She has had two small litters, producing three bitches black and tan bitches and one Red dog. Bella is the black and tan bottom below. She lives with us and is also regularly shown in Europe and the UK.

The German Pinscher in the UK is a minority Breed, with only small numbers being owned and shown. There are a few dedicated German Pinscher owners and exhibitors in the UK who are committed to growing the breed and as a group we are working hard to raise the awareness and popularity of the breed. The Kennel club registered German Pinscher Club in the UK, can be found at www.thegermanpinscher.co.uk. I am a member of the committee for the club and I also write the breed notes for German Pinscher in the Dog World magazine. We are involved in lots of activities and run a stand at Discover dogs and Cruft’s each year where you can meet us and our dogs.Feel free to visit our site and contact us for any questions you may have.

I have fallen in love with these little dogs, they are great fun, full of life and great characters. They really do make you smile every day.
I hope you enjoy my website but do contact me either by email or phone if you have any questions or would like to discuss the breed further.
